I spent about an hour watching this black bear fish for kokanee salmon at Taylor Creek in Lake Tahoe. Every fall, the kokanee salmon spawn at Taylor Creek and swim their way upstream until they ultimately meet their end. Often times, that comes from the local black bears (not to be confused with brown bears—even though this guy resembles some characteristics of a brown bear) feeding on them as they prepare for hibernation.
